Do you like my hat?

This Strawberry Tilda from Magnolia caught my eye the minute I saw her...she has the cutest hat on, don't you think?? It reminds me of my online friends on SCS...the Travelin' Dork Sisters, who on many occasion, say silly things like, "Do you like my hat?" To which there will be some type of Dr. Seuss reply that makes us all giggle...

Anyhow...I hope you like my Tilda, her hat, and the strawberry center I made by cutting the strawberry out from the paper and adding crystal effects. Then I stuck my finger smack dab in the middle of it...and after trying so many other embellishment centers and removing them, I just stuck it on and thought, yes, I do, I do like this strawberry with the thumbprint in the middle. Hee..

The Just Magnolia challenge is "In the Garden," and I thought this image fit!

I spent way too long on this card, but it is summer, and no one is here to work on landscaping, or painting, or anything...and I just needed a day to relax and play for awhile.

The flower was made from some heavy cardboard packaging material that I ran through my CB with some Papertrey Ink flower dies (love those!!)

I am going to list the copics for you who like to know these things, this is the first time I have been able to keep track of them.

We've got a cloudy day here in Colorado with rain straight for the past almost 24 hours...so maybe that's what inspired my bright sunny card this afternoon! Tilda's top was paper-pieced and the sketch was this week's Just Magnolia's blog challenge for the week.

This is also for my friend, Cindy's Teapot Tuesday's card this week to find a ride at the Kentucky Derby. I told her I have no horse stamps, but I might bring a bicycle, I don't think she will mind, do you?

And over at Stamping Sister in Christ's Blog, the challenge this week was to make a card using flowers. The verse this week is Isaiah 40:8: "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever." What a comforting scripture in times of upheaval in our lives. Thank you SSIC for the challenge!

Whatcha Got Cookin'?

No, this isn't another recipe post, I am just trying to think of a catchy title to go with this Baking Tilda...today is a new challenge on the Just Magnolia blog, a sketch. While my sketch isn't exact, I think all the components are there!! This was a new Tilda for me, colored in copics and I made a ribbon flower from the wide SU striped ribbon and paired this with some buttons from PTI and antiqued with a bit of Tim Holtz distress inks in Tea Dye. I also used some new nestabilites, Labels 8. I love this card...it made me happy to make it and reminded me of one thing that gives me joy and I am missing right now...and that is hospitality and cooking up something special for others. So I am entering this in Stamping Sisters in Christ challenge to make a card that brings you joy.

Tilda Sweet Surprises

Tilda has a surprise cupcake for you today! I just got this set, Cowberry Muffin, and paired it with the Basic Grey Lemonade designer paper for this week's Magnolia sketch challenge. The challenges run weekly and it is about to expire today!! Good grief, I can't believe how fast a week goes by!

My Tilda was colored with copic markers. I can't tell you which ones, because once I start, I just keep grabbing and blending, and in the end, I usually have about 20 sprawled out over my table. I like the idea of blending 3 colors per color family, but it usually doesn't work that way for me! The background paper is SU Rose Red, the designer papers and Tilda were matted in Certainly Celery. Sugar coated brads from Making Memories and one little pearl for the cherry were added for fun. White polka dotted sheer ribbon was wrapped around the base, per the sketch requirements. The side tab is from SU's Sweet Sampler set, stamped in Rose Red, then punched with a large oval. Only one side was trimmed and tucked under the main image...I like that sentiment, "Sweets" it fits a few people in my life right now!

There is a place not too far from my house called "The Cupcakery," and putting this card together has assured a visit soon...Tilda will probably pick the red velvet, which one do you want??

Tilda Times Three

Good morning!!

I have fallen in love with Tilda, she is so fun to create with!

This card is for this weeks' Just Magnolia challenge to paper piece a Magnolia stamp! I combined several challenges, just because I wanted to try them out...the last two were to use distress ink for an antique look, and the layout was similar to the layout given a couple of weeks back.

Have you ever come to a dead end in a card when you realize that you don't have just the right shade of prima? That happened to me, then I remembered these beautiful fairy primas given to me by my good friend, Joanne, (JoJot) in Steamboat...and I have to say, they were a sigh of giddy relief. Thanks so much Joanne~

One thing about Tilda, she is never in a hurry. She just bides her time and goes around spreading sunshine everywhere!
