After the past post, I decided it was time to go back to visiting my serious self with stamping today! I love this Friends 24-7 SU stamp set and have turned to it a few times...that damask single stamp keeps bringing me back! The damask was stamped in soft sky, then the bird was overstamped in black. It is easier to see if you click on the picture...this gives such an elegant feel to a card, I think!
Today was Featured stamper at SCS, and that was the momentum I needed to stamp this birthday card for a very good friend I've had since 8th grade. I just visited her home in Dallas a couple of months ago, and it was so cool to look out her family room window and see a variety of birds that are new to me. I even spotted a cardinal, it was gorgeous, but I don't have a cardinal stamp. Anyway, her love of birds also inspired this card, and the inside saying is a really cool font to pair with flourishes. It should say, "keeping friends" rather than "making friends..." but I went with what the stamp said. I hope you like my creation today, and that you have a special friend you've had for years in your life. My friend, Geri and I have known each other for 39 years, hard to believe!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! I'm glad you enjoyed seeing some Texas birds. When you come to visit me (hee-hee) we will go to my MIL's house where she has about 30 birdhouses hanging in the backyard and you can see more. I know your friend will love this card from you.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Traci. She will love it. I think the colors are a super choice. I have one birdfeeder in my back yard. I fill it up in the morning. Next morning it is empty. WHAT>>>> My hubby says. "You know that I saw a coon out there emptying your feeder". Now he tells me. So it gets brought in each night. Great card. I am sure forever friend will appreciate this...
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card, Traci!!! That is one of my favorite sets and it looks fabulous with those colors!!!! The inside is beautiful, too!!! I love to see cards with the insides finished....mine look pretty pitiful because I am just too lazy!!!
