Happy May Day!!
My good friends over in the dandy patch are having a challenge for a May Day card...and this is what I came up with. My friend, Lois, said she had fond memories of May Day and wearing pretty bows in her hair, going door to door with May Baskets and leaving them for neighbors and such.
This is my interpretation of May Day, I think of bright tulips, sunshiney skies, and the bow is for Lois and her hair bows!!
Do you have any May Day memories? If so, share them here, I'd love to read your comments!!

Live Life with Passion

My, how fast they grow...

I can't believe my firstborn daughter will be 22 years old on Tuesday!!

She has these colors in her bedroom, so I framed this piece, rather than making just a card for her birthday gift. This stamp works well for larger frames...and after much fiddling, this is the end product. It could have been simple, but my brain wasn't working...I tried embossing, masking, reverse masking, and then just decided to stamp!! But I did decide to stamp and then spritz, and really like the texture it gave~ when doing this, a plant mister works better than a spray bottle. The sentiment was used with the oval nestablities and little dew drops were added to accent. I think she will like it, and it is easier to keep than a card!

Thanks for looking today!

Someone Remembers...

Today I finished up a card using some new SU paper I got in the mail from my friend, Lois, a surprise package!!

Don't you just love those? So, the paper was the inspiration for this sweet Mangolia image, also

a gift from another SCS friend...I am blessed indeed!

I wanted a sympathy card, the inside script reads, "Someone remembers, someone cares, your

name is mentioned in someone's prayers." The little girl is sitting on a cloud, or so it seems, and this seemed a suitable thing for her to be thinking...she is colored in copic markers, and her wings have a bit of stardust pen to highlight. The clouds are made using a cloud template I made awhile ago. (courtesy of friend, Mothermark). The flower was originally white, and I used the same copic marker from her little overalls to color the center button, then added some polka dots to the daisy to tie all the colors in.

Thanks for looking, and hope you like it!

Spring Cleaning

First, let me say I am loving reading all these fun comments and encouragement from my first post!! It is amazing to me to think that anyone would want to come to visit my blog, sooo nice to see you all here!!
I am not home right now...in fact I am on the other side of our beautiful state of Colorado staying at my parent's house. I am watching the house and making visits to the nursing home to visit my Mom and Dad. Dad is recovering well from knee surgery, and Mom is very happy to have him with her and rallying around him while he is in rehab.
So while here, I have noticed Spring has Sprung...in fact we are in quick warming trend of the low 80's following a rain deluge last week. And peering out the windows I am noticing another thing, lots of dirt and muck...so, bringing out my trusty window cleaning recipe and wanted to share it with you. This is guaranteed to clean your windows and your sinuses...try it and you'll see. Let me know what ya think once you're done cleaning...it is Spring and it is almost the weekend!!

Window Cleaning Recipe

To One Gallon of Water Add:
1/2 Cup Ammonia
1 pint rubbing alcohol *found in the pharmacy department
1 tiny squirt of Dawn dishwashing liquid

Mix in the bucket, and use your scrubber and squeegee to get those windows sparklin'. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe your squeegee between each swipe...
Tip: Clean your windows on a cloudy day, but not a rainy day. :)

Hi! This is my first post and I am so excited to share a special place with you! This picture was taken a month ago in one of my favorite mountain retreats, Steamboat Springs. This shot is overlooking the Yampa River with the ski mountain in the background.

You want to know what I am most excited about? I have a few stamping friends that I am very fond of who will be joining me in less than a month! If you're one of them, won't you leave a comment so I don't give the surprise away? So, I wanted to give these friends a preview of what is to come...we have lots of blue sky in Colorado as you can tell by the picture. And hopefully the snow will be melted, but even if it's not, we'll have fun romping! In the near future I hope to be able to show some pictures of all of us together, oh and maybe a card or two. Thanks for stopping by today!
