Fragrant Rose

Today's Sunday challenge on the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog is brought to us by my friend, Peggysue. You can visit our blog following the link above to read this week's wonderful scripture and devotional!!
The challenge this week is to use a flower on your card creation. This is a Flourishes set given to me by a friend. The verse is highlighted by a SU! embossing frame and the beautiful Lenten Roses are colored in with copic markers. One of the flowers is cut out and popped up. (That was done to hide a flower...this is a "new" technique...hide a flower...and it worked really well for me!! :)
We have a prize sponsor as well...so please hop on over and join in the challenge this week!! The card challenge was a good one for me as I am really out of practice coloring and need much more practice.
I look forward to seeing your creations, and will join along with you reading this week's devotional. I am sure we will be blessed. Have a wonderful week, and thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Everything about your card is perfect. Love the layout you chose, the flowers/coloring/dimension are gorgeous and I love the way you framed the verse. Your bow is fantastic. Do you do that by hand or use a bow maker. I'd love to find one that is easy and versatile for different sizes and styles of bows. Love your artwork, girlfriend!

  5. Traci this is soooo gorgeous!!! Out of practice coloring??? I think this is over the top beautiful!! Love the embossing folder surrounding your sentiment! LOVE it Traci!!! You asked about the chalks... yep... they are like SU pastels! I used Pebbles Pearlescent from ACMoore but basically they are the same thing. I think what gave the light on that craft cs was the brilliance inks first... gave a lighter bg for certain areas. I seriously was just experimenting and kind of liked the result! LOL! I guess that's how we discover things but anyway... thanks for your sweet comments! Hope you have a wonderful week my friend!!!!
    hugs,
    Grace

  9. I am sitting here with insomnia at 4:00 in the morning finally getting around to commenting and now trying not to laugh because of your new technique. I love that technique and I have used the complementary techniques of "hide a smudge" "hide a rip" "hide a blotch" and they work well too, just FYI. Love this card, so pretty and such a great layout.
