Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels.
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings,
These are a few of my favorite things!
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes...
Silver white winters that melt into springs,
These are a few of my favorite things!!
Good morning! These words are from one of my favorite songs taken from my all time favorite movie, The Sound of Music! I was delighted when the Flourishes Blog team challenged the viewers to create a card using one of the lines of the lyrics from these songs. I found some warm woolen mittens and paired them with the snowflakes from the snowflakes Cuttlebug folder, then doused them with some chunky MS glitter and added a pretty eyelet border , then finished it off with some pretty red buttons! This is also a TECHNIQUE using the Double embossed dry embossing which was featured on Monday's technique challenge on SCS. It took me awhile, but with a little determination, I was able to get a great embossing impression. What a fun way to add texture and spotlight one item as in these mittens.
Last year my husband and I were able to take a trip to Salzburg, Austria, where a good portion of this film was made...over the weekend I plan to upload a few photos of some of the settings from the movie, The Sound of Music.
Thanks so much for stopping by...and what would be your favorite thing from this song? I admit, it was hard for me to choose just one!!
I have this movie all geared up for when my girls are here next weekend.. This movie is so fun and they don't make them like that anymore... Super card.. I think it is perfect for this challenge.. Your blog looks terrific too... I love it.. I wish they had that in a dp.. Have a great weekend Traci..

ReplyDeleteI like bright copper kettles because you can make warm cups of tea, but girls in white dresses makes me think of my daughters, so that's good too. What a CUTE card, love that border and the texture and the warmth.
ReplyDeleteThis is a cute card, Traci! I enjoyed listening to the music. One can never go wrong with music from the sound of music!
