Where do we go when we need help, shelter, refuge? Who do we trust in times of uncertainty or confusion?
We need only to watch outside our windows during a deluge of rain and hail to see the birds perched on a tree limb with their heads tucked under the leaves. I saw this scene the other day and was reminded of this verse from Psalm 91:4. The verse cannot be appreciated or understood unless viewed in the context of the verses before and after. Psalm 91 is one of my favorite Bible chapters as it speaks of danger, pestilence, arrows from all sides...and the one who can watch as if from a distance...who sees his enemies fall by his side as he takes refuge under the pinions, (feathers) of Almighty God. I have been in a long season of health issues...sometimes seeming insurmountable as I've had to wait and trust in God for understanding and the next step of action and then again wait on Him in trust and confidence.
I have a friend to thank for the idea and layout of this card. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink Oxide in a couple of colors, Broken China and Cracked Pistachio for the bottom layer, a layer of mica flakes in gold stripe, and a couple of leaf dies from Papertrey Ink. The bird is from the "Brushed Birds" set also from PTI, as well as the scripture stamp.
Thank you for your visit today!!

  1. I’ve thought that set from PTI is just gorgeous, and I dwell on this verse often. We need those places of refuge that come from the Lord. Such a lovely reminder and a lovely card Traci!

  2. It's a lovely and comforting verse, Traci. I've got those PTI birds on my wish list. They look so cute and fluffy and NO coloring to worry about. Love that! I hope your health issues have resolved or will soon.

Thanks for stopping by, your comments are a treasured part of my day!!
