Pretty Pink Zinnia!

I have long been an admirer of many of the design team members of the now retired Flourishes stamps. This card was completely inspired by Christine of Christine Creations who now serves on the Power Poppy brigade team! She introduced me to pointillism via her blog a long time ago...and when I can remember; I love to use this for shading around a focal image.  The technical definition of "pointillism" is using points of ink in art to form a pattern. This doesn't actually form a pattern, but it adds a lot of color surrounding this pretty flower! I still have so many of the Flourishes stamps, many as of yet not inked
...so I will be continuing to use these and feature them on my blog along with the newer "Power Poppy" stamps!!
Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my little card!!

Hello My Dear~

Hello my Dears! So happy you're here and popped in for a minute! I wanted to share the other Valentine that didn't make it into my daughter's hands this year. Now that she is a newlywed, I seriously doubt that she is waiting for her Valentine from her Mom (for goodness sake!) but I still enjoy making them and hope in some small way they convey this huge love I can't contain!
This stamp is a retired Flourishes set, "Typeset." I have only previously used one of the sentiments...and when I was searching through my non-Valentine stamp sets, I thought this one would work well! Sounds like just something a Mom would say, right?
Thanks so much for looking, and I always love to know you were here...Blessings!

Sheltering Tree Valentine

I can tell I am going to love this set from SU!, Sheltering Tree! I created the two tones of flowering buds by stamping once in Strawberry Slush ink, then re inking my stamp and stamping off once on scrap paper before stamping the same buds again with a slight change in placement. I used a micron .01 pen and a ruler to add the short line from my branch to connect the punched heart shape. That idea came to me after completing the card, as I am meeting two wonderful friends for coffee today,  I wanted this card to be a friendship Valentine for these women who are faithful to meet with me for prayer for each other often. Their friendship is precious because we know that strength is derived when two or more are gathered to pray faithfully for each other. What a blessing to have friends like these...but I have to say that this friendship has taken much intentionality on my part...perseverance to contact, prepare in ways of hospitality with a home cooked soup or easy supper, hosting groups often and with prayer as the focus...but out of that has come deep roots and a desire to continue to meet, encourage, edify, and pray for one another. I do believe that these efforts are more than worth it and it is also pleasing to God when we meet together to pray!
Thank you so much for your visit today. May you be blessed!

Valentines in Vellum

Hi friends! Tomorrow is that wonderful day of the year when we celebrate Valentine's Day! I spent a good part of yesterday afternoon playing with different stamps that did not necessarily have a Valentine's day theme or sentiments...they seemed appropriate to the occasion. I'll be sharing one today, and several tomorrow.
This card uses a Flourishes stamp set that is now retired. I stamped in versamark, gold embossed, then filled in a few of the letters with a copic marker. The side vellum is Stampin Up's Gold Fancy Foil designer vellum. Those itty bitty tiny hearts are gold embossed...so soft and lovely. I used a tiny heart punch to punch two of the hearts out to add to the top and bottom flourishes. The Embossing Folder is Cuttlebug's "Cross my Heart." The top heart was cut from SU's gold glossy paper with Spellinder's Hearts dies.
This will be submitted for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge using the below sketch:
Isn't this the cutest, and so versatile? Thanks for dropping by and Happy Valentine's Day!!
