Mums in Spring?

Hi there friends! Since it is officially spring here and it is roaring like a lion with overpowering winds...I have a a springy version of this Mum floral set from Papertrey Ink. I used a new to me text stamp and classic Birthday wishes stamped on an overlay vellum and white embossed. To be clear...this is a CASE and I don't know where I saw it originally, but I liked the tab treatment and wanted to use vellum. I like the simplicity of this card very much.
Wishing you a wonderful day! Thanks for your visit!

Tiny packages ready for a flat mailer!

Do you ever feel like you have too much stamping stuff? Every once in awhile I will go through my stamps and papers and get a box ready to give away...but as anyone who is an enthusiastic stamper knows...there are always new stamps arriving in the mail, irresistible ribbons to add to your collections...and of course, the latest paper is always a fun find! I find I always have a lot of the 12x12 scrap booking paper collecting dust and lying below piles, leftover ribbon pieces, and odd flowers sitting in a drawer. Today I wanted to mail a friend a little surprise package and my usual method would be to find some bright colored tissue paper, wrap it up, and stuff it in a flat mailing envelope.
But this time, I decided to look through my paper scraps, then spied two pieces of spring yellow dotted ribbon laying on my desk...and an idea flourished.
So here is my version of "brown paper packages tied up in string..."
                                                        Various scrapbook paper, ribbon, doilies
and Martha Stewart stick on flowers
I bought several packages of these
                                                             Prima Flowers years ago!

I grabbed a doily for pretty framing!
If you are sending a package and are looking for ideas for easy and flat...just take a look around your stamp studio. These packages fit great in the lined mailers and only cost 2.50 to mail the entire package!
Sometimes it's the simplest and easiest ideas that make me happy!
Thanks for spending part of your day with me...blessings!

Bunny Brigade!

Hi friends! We live on a greenbelt and often looking out over our back deck, I can see bunnies scampering through the trees, shrubs, and little rocky gardens. I have such a soft spot in my heart for these sweet furry creatures...I was delighted to use these digital stamps from Diane's Daydream Designs. The artist for these stamps is Katlyn Traxler and she has many sweet images in the store which I hope to try out soon.
Spring speaks pastels and bunnies, don't you think?
Spring Rains in Pinks

This one in yellow uses paper from the store and the sentiment included in this adorable set! It fit perfectly in one of my cloud dies! a little bow and prima center, some enamel drops, and stickles glitter on the raindrops...makes a sweet encouragement card.
Thanks for stopping in today...may all your spring showers blossom into beautiful flowers!!

Inspired Tulips Three Ways!

Isn't it funny how a small gift can be multiplied by the joy it inspires? Not  long ago a friend brought over a bunch of purple tulips as a little "thank you" gift. Since the ground is still largely grayish and not greenish and the spring has not yet sprung in these Colorado high plains parts...the flower blooms were a delight to my senses! Of course, I could not stare at them too long without feeling the urge to express their beauty through my favorite creative medium, stamping! Using these tulips from Flourishes stamps, I made three cards using three layouts and three different colors. Which one do you like best?
Tulips in pink

Tulips in Purple

Tulips in Yellow

I actually had time to make my own ribbon colors by dyeing some seam binding. I just used a few drops of  SU! reinker and spritzed with some water and tossed it around on a flexible cutting board as I could not find my craft mat. I am happy to say that the ink washed right off the cutting board and now it is delegated to my stamp room so I can dabble in a few more colors. This was fun and easy too!

Pretty Pink Lady

Hello, it's been awhile! I am home...recovering from my husband's surgery. What, you say? Yes, and I am eating for two...No, I am not pregnant, no I did not just have surgery. I don't know why, but having my husband undergo a major surgery has me in recovery as he is recovering. It feels so strange to have him in his weakened state, sleeping a lot and unable to do all the things he normally does to serve our family! It is stressful being a full time caretaker, taking on the role as the "man of the house," like taking out the trash, bringing in the newspaper and doggy poop duty. (I am putting that little task off for now...hoping the extra fertilizer will only green up our lawn quicker and maybe a deterrent ...kinda like land mines for anyone who dare trespass our yard at night!)  I am definitely eating enough for both of us. He doesn't have much of an appetite, but I am making up for it with mine. We work well together like that! Well, we are a team...and when one is down, it does affect the other. I know God is teaching me through this and I am sometimes slow to learn but I am willing to wait right here and hopefully serve, minister to and encourage my husband has he works to get well. Lots of trips to Physical Therapy with me behind the wheel.
My friends urged me to take it slow as well, so to that end, I discovered a great used book store and found two books this morning that I hope to be able to concentrate enough to delve into.  I took a few pictures of some completed stamped cards this afternoon before the wind kicked up again so I can get back to blogging a bit...yippee:!!

So here is a card I stamped awhile ago using my all time favorite Flourishes stamps. The company just sold their business and I am missing the blog and challenges there...but the illustrator for them rebooted it under a new name and I am beyond excited about that!!
So, thanks for popping in to check on me...I will be staying close to home for the next couple of weeks, so hope to share a few more cards soon. Blessings on your day!
